2018-02-08 Celsius-Linneaus Lectures and Symposium in Uppsala

NGI welcomes all researchers with an interest in transcriptomic and single cell studies to this year's Celsius-Linneaus Lectures and Symposium.

Single cell sequencing has revolutionized life science research leading to a deeper understanding of biological processes in health and disease. Gene expression that were before masked in "bulk" measurements can now be observed directly in hundreds of individual cells at a time.

This year the Linneaus part of the lectures and symposium will focus on single cell technology and transcriptiomic studies, with Prof. Aviv Regev as the keynote speaker. During the symposium researchers associated with National Genomics Infrastructure (NGI) will present.

For more information visit the Celsius–Linnaeus Lectures and Symposium website.

2017-12-06 6-7 December; Long-read sequencing meeting and workshop

NGI Uppsala invites you to join a two-day event dedicated to long-read sequencing applications.

Long-read sequencing has revolutionized the field of de novo genome assembly for biodiversity studies and has a potential to transform clinical sequencing. This field is moving extremely fast with ever increasing performance of the sequencing instruments as well as novel applications being developed. Currently, the main technology providers for long-read sequencing are PacBio, 10x Genomics and Oxford Nanopore.

Date: December 6 and 7, 2017 Venue: BMC, Husargatan 3, Uppsala.
Day 1 is free of charge. Day 2 - 500 SEK.

2017-11-14 Single cell RNA-seq seminar hosted by NGI Uppsala SNP&SEQ

The SNP&SEQ Technology Platform (NGI Uppsala), Miltenyi Biotec, and 10x Genomics welcomes all researchers with an interest in single cell sequencing. Single cell sequencing has revolutionized life science research leading to a deeper understanding of biological processes in health and disease. Rapid technology advances are enabling large-scale projects for resolving single cell populations from 100s to millions of cells in a given study. In this seminar, Miltenyi Biotec and 10x Genomics will introduce a combined workflow for optimized sample preparation and single cell analysis, and NGI Uppsala will present their experience preparing and sequencing scRNA-seq libraries. Topics include MACS® magnetic cell separation any tissue, from small to large scale, from frequently occurring cells to rare cells and sophisticated subset and combined T-cell, B-cell, and 5' gene expression analysis as well as the established 3' single cell gene expression analysis from many diverse sample types.

Coffee/fika will be provided. We kindly ask you to register so we can order the appropriate amount of catering.

2017-05-11 The NGI Symposium series: Metagenomics, Metabarcoding and eDNA

- How NGS technologies can be used to study past and present biodiversity and as a tool for environmental monitoring

Time and place: May 11, 2017, BMC, Uppsala
Theme: Metagenomics, Metabarcoding and eDNA

It is with a great pleasure we announce the date and theme of this spring National Genomics Infrastructure (NGI) symposium serie.

Through theme-based half-day symposiums, NGI aims to provide researchers in Sweden the opportunity to interact, meet experts, get inspired, and learn more about a broad range of Next Generation Sequencing (NGS) and genotyping technologies and how they can be applied within various fields of research.

During the sympsium you will also get the opportunity to listen to and meet with personnel from the NGI facilities.

The seminar is free of charge, but registration is binding. Please note that due to the limited number of seats registrations will be accepted on first come – first serve basis. Registration deadline is May the 5th.
